Your agreement with us
By creating a SettleMe account you agree to these terms. SettleMe is operated from South Africa for South African businesses. If you use SettleMe on behalf of a business, you confirm you're authorised to bind that business.
The service & the beta
SettleMe is invoicing and collections software: you create, deliver and track invoices. It is not accounting software, a payment processor of record, or a tax adviser. The product is currently in beta — features may change, and paid-plan features are available without charge until billing launches.
Your account
Keep your password safe; you're responsible for activity under your login. Team members you invite act under your business account, with the permissions their role grants.
Acceptable use
Don't use SettleMe to send fraudulent or misleading invoices, spam, or anything unlawful. We may suspend accounts that abuse the service or harm other users.
Plans & billing
Starter is free with unlimited core invoicing. Pro and Team pricing is shown on the pricing page, excludes VAT, and applies per business profile. During the beta no charges are made; when billing launches, beta customers keep their listed price.
Your content & data
Your invoices, customers and files are yours. We process them only to run the service. You can export everything as CSV at any time. Sent invoices are retained as a tamper-evident record — voiding, not deletion, is how a sent invoice is withdrawn.
Invoices & tax
SettleMe shapes documents around published SARS tax-invoice requirements, but issuing legally compliant invoices remains your responsibility. This is not tax advice — confirm your setup with your accountant, especially on your first VAT period.
Payments via payment links
Card payments on the Team plan are processed by PayFast. SettleMe never holds your card data or your clients' card data, and settlements flow directly from the provider to your bank account at the provider's rates and schedule.
Availability & liability
We aim for high availability but provide the service "as is" during the beta. To the extent the law allows, our liability is limited to amounts you paid us in the preceding 12 months.
Termination
You can stop using SettleMe at any time and export your data first. We may close accounts that breach these terms, with notice where reasonable.
Governing law & contact
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Questions? Email hello@settleme.co.za.
